So what is Nutritional Therapy?
Nutritional Therapy is the Uk's fastest growing complementary health offering.
It seeks to address the root cause of health concerns.
Provides personalised nutritional intervention through food, targeted supplements and functional testing.
A person-focussed approach rather than a symptom or disease approach.
BANT registered Nutritional Therapist's are educated to a minimum degree level in Nutritional Science and Practice https://bant.org.uk. Registered Nutritional Therapist's are further registered and governed by an ethical code of practice set by the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council www.https://www.cnhc.org.uk.
Practitioners never recommend Nutritional Therapy as an alternative to medical advice and always refer to a medical professional with any 'red flag' signs and symptoms. We work together with other health care professionals that are involved in a client's care when appropriate.
WHO NEEDS NUTRITIONAL THERAPY?
Everyone! We live in busy times and digestives issues such as bloating, indigestion, IBS and constipation are on the rise and becoming increasingly the 'norm'. Poor immune health and rising hormone and mental health challenges are just a few of the issues that are becoming an accepted part of 21st century living.
Nutritional Therapy gives clients an opportunity to put health back in their own hands by receiving empowering, practical guidance that is tailored to individual needs and health concerns. I work with children and adults typically seeking support with
energy level balancing
cognition, concentration and memory
mood and stress management
gut and digestive health
natural and gentle detoxification
healthy and realistic diet and lifestyle choices
IS IT CHILD FRIENDLY?
Absolutely! For those under 16 a parent has to be present. Prior to becoming a registered Nutritional Therapist, I was a Primary School Teacher for several years which is invaluable experience for supporting the needs of our younger clients. I am also a mum of 3 young children and understand the importance of safe, achievable and evidence based guidance.
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
Nutritional therapy works best with a minimum of 2-3 appointments over a couple of months. Nutrition and lifestyle changes are not a quick fix and it takes time to embed new ways of eating and time for your body to heal and repair itself.
